IEEE 1394b (Firewire는 IEEE 1394였죠)가 거의 완성단계에 들어갔다는 군요. 현재 Firewire는 400Mbs인데 곧 완성될(이번달 내라고 해석되네요.) IEEE 1394b(=Firewire2)는 하위호환성을 갖추고 800Mbs 로 시작한다고 하네요. 이제 USB 2.0은 사장되는건가?? ㅋㅋㅋ 자세한건 기사(http://www.businesswire.com/cgi-bin/f_headline.cgi?bw.052101/211410373)가 넘 딱딱해서 뭔말인지 모르겠네요. 기사 맨 아래에 엿보기가 있네요.     1394b Benefits at a Glance --  Speeds beginning at 800 Megabit/sec., up to 1.6 Gigabit/sec, with architectural changes that allow future specifications to go over 3.2 Gigabit/second; (800Mbs~1.6Gbs의 속도. 잘만하면-특별한 변경을 가하면?- 3.2Gbs까지 나온다??) --  Node-to-node distances to over 100 meters using various media. 100 Megabit/second is supported for category 5 unshielded twisted pair (CAT-5 UTP), 200 Megabit/second over plastic optical fiber, and a full 3.2 Gigabit/second, using 50 um multimode glass fiber;   (100미터 이상 연결해서 사용할수 있다??) --  Cost reductions over the existing 1394-1995 and 1394a implementations are possible since the new "pure beta" mode specified by 1394b allows simple galvanic isolation.
