어느 독일 사람이 테스한 결과랍니다.
결론은 PPC 시스템에서 기존 프로그램과 유니버셜 바이너리 프로그램과의 속도 차이가 약 25%정도 빨라진다고 합니다.
[스피드 10% 업하고 Set on Backwards(아마도 reverse를 말하는 듯) 그리고 윈드 필터 100%에서]
그리고 렌더링 속도가 기존 PPC에서는 3-4분 걸리던 것이
인텔맥에서는 53초가 걸렸다고 합니다. ㅡ.ㅡ;;
이것이 과연 어케 가능한지 모르겠습니다만...
여튼 빨라진 것만은 사실인 것 같습니다.
사진작업 프로그램인 어퍼쳐도 유니버셜 바이너리로 업하니
속도가 많이 좋아졌거든요.
기대됩니다.

First test for Final Cut Studio Pro universal binary
In a first test we compared the render speed of Final Cut Pro 5.1 with FCP 5.04 and the new Intel Macs against the "old" PowerMacs with Motorola Power processors. The result is impressive:

One note a the begin: the update takes time. The software is shipping with 7 DVD's. It takes about one and a half hour to install. If there is already an old Final Cut Studio you will not need to enter a new serial. If you install just a part of the Software you have to enter the shipped new serial. So owner of an older FCP studio will have 2 serial numbers.
The first launch show nothing new with the programms. To compare the speed, we have put a DV-clip in the timeline, setting the speed to 10% (apple key + j) and set on backwards. Then the we applied the wind filter with 100%. We measured the render times and compared them with different Macs. The results were more than asthonised!
Our test Macs were:
a) Apple G5 Dual 2Ghz, 1.5GB memory, NVIDIA GeForce 6600 LE 128MB
b) iMac G5 20" 2.1 GHz, 1.5GB memory, 128MB graphic board
c) iMac Intel 20" 2GHz Core Duo, 1.5GB memory, X1600 128MB graphic board
d) MacBook Pro 2GHz Core Duo, 1.5GB memory, X1600 128MB graphic board
The first surprise was that FCP 5.1 is rendering much faster than version 5.04. On a iMac G5 with FCP 5.04 = 4 min 48 sec, after the update only 3 min 52 sec. It was similar with the PowerMac G5. Here was the result 4 min 10 sec vs. 3 min 18 sec.
The big surprises came as we hit the apple - r key on the Intel iMac: 53 sec! We couldn't belive that so we used the MacBook Pro. And 59 sec!

Result
The update is worth for all PowerPC and Intel Mac users. On the actual G5 FCP renders 25 - 30 % faster. But a considerably result with with an increase of about 350 - 400% with the IntelMacs. This is particularly interessting for people which are on the way with a MacBook Pro.

- Put the clip in the timeline, apple-j, 10% and backwards
- Put the video filter - unsharp wind effect
- double click on the clip
- set to 100% in the filter settings
- save the project
- hit apple-r and measure the time
